The Pit Report - SF Warfield 11/19/01

So I was down on the floor, moshing around and being drunk and feeling orgasmically happy just to be there in the crowd once again (it'd been a whole year since I last saw them!) But I was also feeling a bit sad that security made me check my camera since I got such a great spot. The setlist was AWESOME 'cause they included lots of stuff off science, and I also got noticed by the Incuboys because I had this toy where there are flashing red lights on the end of a plastic thing, and you spin it around and it spells a message... I programmed it to say "CHUCK" and after one song, Brandon saw it and started laughing and goes, "Yeah, Chuck! Alright!" and continued to rock the house. When it had appeared that they had finished after playing WYWH, my friend and I bolted out of the crowd, he went down to the coat check and got my camera, I got a Chuck doing karate t-shirt, and once I got my camera, disappeared back into the crowd just in time for the encore. I had my sweet little zoom lens and I don't know how the hell I did it, but I managed to get right back in front and shot an entire roll of photos in only two songs. They will be on my website by Monday, PROMISE!

The moment they were finished, we jammed out the door, got our posters (incredible artwork on these! I'll post a scan of one as well) and headed for the back door. After about an hour of bullshitting with security and almost kicking some glitter-bitch's ass for crowding into me, I saw an afro approaching the bus. (the amount of teenies outside was seriously pissing me off... I met the BIGGEST groupie ever out there) As soon as I saw Mike and Brandon (Jose, Dirk and Chris just hopped straight on the bus... suckas) I started spinning my "Chuck" thing and they immediately remembered me. They signed my poster, my science cd, and my enjoy cd, and were very very nice. I told Brandon thanks for such a great performance and that they did a great job, and he gave me a big smile and said thank you and shook my hand... It took me a moment to bring myself to let go. I asked Brandon if I could get a quick photo with him, and he said okay, but then one of his body guards literally grabbed him around his waist and dragged him to the bus... damn! But it was kinda funny to see him carted off like a little kid by his bodyguard.

Needless to say, I had one of the most wonderful nights ever. I just wish I could go to tonight's show! Oh, and you know that beanie that Brandon ALWAYS wears? Well it now belongs to some lucky bastard in San Francisco... yup, he chucked it into the crowd. Hope he has another one like it! Oh, and to top off my wonderful evening, I dreamed I was back at their show and chilled with the band for hours afterward, so in a way, I got to enjoy incubus twice! Woot! And hey, there were these two baby yorkies on the bus... anyone know who they belong to? They were so cute!

I moved!

I moved into my new apartment last Saturday!!! I love it, love it, love it! Of course, the place is a disaster right now since just about everything I own is on my living room floor. But I'm almost done fixing up the bedroom and then I will start on unpacking and putting away everything. I couldn't be happier though! And not to mention it's a 5 minute drive from work, I don't even have to get on the freeway. Can't beat that commute eh? Ah, life is good right now...

Record companies suck goat schlong!

I hate Incubus now. I waited in line for FIVE AND A HALF HOURS, not to mention the 2 hour drive to get there, and they shut the door right when I was NEXT. Live 105 lied their asses off saying that if you buy the CD that you get a wristband GUARANTEEING you'll meet them.. sure you got a wristband. But what Live105 didn't tell people is that you had to buy the album on Oct. 23rd, and if you bought it on the 24th you get a wristband for the "secondary" line. The line they MIGHT get to. And out of thousands of people, they left when there was only a couple hundred left. And they left EARLY. They were supposed to be there until 10 but they left at 9. Fuckin bastards. Even Fred Durst isn't THAT much of a jerk. Pricks...

Yay!

Today's the day... I get to meet Incubus today! Omigod I'm totally excited! I have a rediculous amount of shit for them to sign, hope they don't mind! Ugh, I'm not looking forward to the line though! I hear that the line for the signing in New York was 3 city blocks long, and one guy got there at 3 and didn't meet them until 8. Wowsers... Good thing I'm leaving work early today! I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait!

Incubus is coming to town!

Can you say "FUCKIN' STOKED"??? So not only do I get to see Incubus on November 19th, but this Thursday they've decided to bless us with their presence at Tower Records in Concord for an evening to sign their new album "Morning View" (which I highly recommend picking up, it's great). My boss found it in his heart to let me leave early that day so I can insure my spot in line. Hope the guys don't mind if I bring more than just my copy of Morning View! (I have all their other cd's and a couple promo photos I'd like to get signed too) I am just so psyched to finally get to meet one of the greatest bands I've ever heard. Unfortunately, I will have to carefully step over all the 12 year old girls that are just there because "Brandon's hot." Which, don't get me wrong, he IS hot... majorly! But it just disgusts me to see little girls gushing over him, and I even heard he has made an appearance in BOP magazine. Gag me with a smurf! Oh well, as long as they keep making awesome music and remember that just because they are famous they are still just like you and me (a.k.a. not god) then it's all good... I'll put up with the teenies. But they better not get in my way at the concert... I might have step on some teenie-bopper toes. I'll try my best to talk the Incuboys into a quick photo on Thursday, which if successful, will immediately be up on my site. Anyway in other news, I'm moving this Saturday and I'm so excited! I ordered my couches yesterday and am buying my bed this weekend. Unfortunately, my couches will take 2 to 4 weeks to arrive so I'll be sitting on this cheesy inflatable loveseat that's been in my trunk for a year and a half until they get here. But it's no biggie... I'm not planning on hooking up my cable right away, so I guess I don't really need a place to lounge around and watch TV just yet. Heh, me without cable... we'll see how long that actually lasts! Good thing I have a ton of books! Yup yup.

Open house, bleh!

Well, we did it. We stayed up all weekend and got my house ready for open house yesterday, and damn I'm tired!!! I was literally falling asleep at my desk today, so I disappeared to the bathroom for a power nap. Yes, I sleep in the bathroom. I know, it's sad. But at least all the housework is done! Now we just have a couple minor repairs to do, but all the major stuff is done, thanks to my uncle and my sweetie. (Who worked their asses off! Thanks guys!) So now we just have to find a buyer and I have to find an apartment! But in the meantime, my dad is moving out of his place and there's a good chance Olaf (my sweetie) will be renting it, so I have a feeling I'll be staying over there a lot. And until then, he'll probably be staying with me (he's been at my place for over a week now, and I love having him there!) so I guess it's all working out just fine. It's a good thing my mom likes him! Actually, it was her idea for him to come stay with us (since his roommate is insane, and after living in London, I know what it's like to have an insane roommate... NOT FUN.) Even my dog loves this guy! I think Olaf is sneaking him treats when I'm at work because my dog has switched to sleeping on his side of the bed instead of mine. That little traitor! But I'm glad to have found someone who is totally on the same wavelength as me... the totally twisted wavelength! Speaking of twisted, I've come across a few REALLY wacked flash movies, and will have a page full of them up soon for your viewing pleasure. So check back soon for some pee-your-pants-hilarity!

Giant seal + scooter = scary!

"I'm happy, I'm feeling glad. I got sunshine in a bag..." -The Gorillaz
So did everybody have a nice Labor Day weekend? I sure did!!! In fact, I can't seem to stop smiling today even though I am DEAD TIRED! My sweetie and I spent the whole weekend together, and my boss hooked me up with tix to the Giants game yesterday, right behind the dugout. Those seats couldn't have been sweeter! Unfortunately, the Giants lost, but Barry slammed one out as usual, so I guess it was still a good game. Well, except for the fact that Lou Seal tried to run me over on his little scooter. You have no idea how frightening it is to have a 7 foot tall seal hurtling toward you on wheels with no visible intention of stopping! He gave me a big smooch afterward though, so all is forgiven. (for those of you who don't know, Lou Seal is the Giants' mascot) Anyway, my weekend just kicked ass all around!
