Is this really happening?

I know what you're thinking... the evil carrot hasn't updated in ages... no love for the netsurfers, right? Yeah, well sorry 'bout that. I've been busy as hell lately and just haven't been able to find the time for playing on the internet. So much has been going on... I'm in the process of fixing up our house to sell it, which has been a MAJOR project. I have to start looking for an apartment soon (hopefully in San Carlos) and I'm trying to figure out how to pay for the $2,000.00 pine bedroom set I've got my eye on. Luckily, I'm back to work at my old company, and for quite a bit more money this time around too. I'm not exactly rolling in dough, but it's enough to survive I suppose. I've also started taking a guitar class since my father got me a beautiful Fender acoustic for my birthday, and I'm trying to find time for a few fun nights out here and there. I had an interesting one last weekend though! An adorable carpenter came to fix my front porch, and just my luck, he called me a few days later to hang out... We ended up "chaperoning" his landlady's son's birthday party, but we didn't do much chaperoning. We ended up drinking quite a bit, and he almost blew up a gas can! Then when we figured things were staying pretty calm at the house, we headed off to the bars for a couple more drinks and a game of pool, this time chaperoning his father. Many of the night's events were so surreal, that he actually asked me at one point if all this was really happening. (I think that was about the time his dad and some guy had a quickdraw duel with their liquor bottles as the only weapons... it only took about 40 seconds to get the cap off!) After we finished with the bars, we made a stop at the liquor store for yet MORE alcohol and a couple sandwiches, (one of which somehow ended up in several pieces at the bottom of the bag) and we headed back to the house to pass out. I know it may not sound like the most interesting evening in the world, but for someone who has been as busy and overworked as me, it was a nice retreat from the real world! And luckily, I didn't even get a hangover like I'm sure I should have! Well, that's about it for now... Til next time... ~EC
